Ask three agencies in Kochi what a 30-second ad film costs and you will get three replies that say “depends on the requirement” and a meeting invite. Nobody in Kerala publishes video numbers, which is why this page does. Below is our actual 2026 rate card for AI video production — reels, ad films, product videos, real estate walkthroughs — what the same ad costs as a traditional shoot, and the five things that genuinely move the price. Every figure is inclusive of production and sound, and it is the same figure we quote on WhatsApp.

AI video production cost in Kerala — 2026 price guide by Dezmos Digital Marketing

What you actually pay for in an AI video

An AI video is not one cost. It is six, and an agency quoting you a single number without a breakdown is averaging across all of them — which is how a ₹1,600 reel turns into ₹9,000 by the time it is delivered. Here is what sits inside the number.

  1. Script and hook. Thirty seconds of video is about 70 words. Writing those 70 words so the first three seconds stop a thumb is the part that decides whether the video works. Budget ₹300–₹800 of the price here, or bring your own script and pay less.
  2. Generation credits. The raw AI cost. For a 30-second reel it is typically ₹150–₹400, because you generate far more footage than you keep — a realistic hit rate is one usable clip in two. This is the part people assume dominates the bill. It does not.
  3. Editing and assembly. Cutting generated clips to the beat, colour-matching shots that came out of different prompts, adding captions and a logo end-card. An hour to ninety minutes of real work on a reel, and the single largest line item.
  4. Voice. Nothing (on-screen text only), a synthetic voice, or a human recording. The gap between the cheapest and the best option here is about ₹800 on a 30-second video and it is usually the best ₹800 in the whole budget.
  5. Music and sound design. Licensed track, whooshes on the cuts, audio levelled so it is not blown out on a phone speaker. Included in every price on this page. Agencies that exclude it are quoting you an unfinished file.
  6. Revisions. One round is normal and included. The third and fourth rounds are where quotes quietly double, because each one means regenerating footage, not nudging a layer in a timeline.

Read that list again and notice where the money is: editing, voice and revisions. The AI itself is the cheapest part. Any rate card priced “per second of AI footage” is measuring the wrong thing.

Dezmos AI video price list — 2026

These are published rates, not starting points. Sound design, licensed music, captions and one revision round are included in every line.

DeliverableWhat you getPrice
15-second AI reelOne hook, 9:16, AI visuals, sound design, captions, 1 revision₹900
30-second AI reelScript, AI visuals, sound design, licensed music, captions, 1 revision₹1,600
₹1,000 intro rate, first reel
30–45s AI ad filmTwo hook variants, human voiceover, 9:16 + 1:1 cuts, 2 revisions₹4,500
Product video (45–60s)Your real product kept in frame, 4–5 scenes, two aspect ratios₹6,000
Real estate walkthroughUp to 60s, your site footage plus AI scene extension, Malayalam or English voiceover₹7,500
Monthly reel pack8 × 30-second reels, delivered two per week, two ratios each₹11,000/month

The ₹1,000 intro rate exists for one reason: most Kerala businesses have never bought an AI video and do not want to find out what it looks like by committing to a pack. One reel at ₹1,000, full commercial rights, no retainer. If it does not perform, you have lost a thousand rupees.

Not included: ad spend (we never mark up media), paid stock footage if a brief needs it, and real-actor fees on a hybrid shoot. Those are passed through at cost. For how this sits alongside everything else a Kerala business buys, our digital marketing cost breakdown for Kerala covers websites, management and ads in the same published-price format.

AI vs traditional shoot — the same 30-second ad

One brief: a 30-second product ad for a Kerala retail brand, vertical, for Instagram and Meta ads. Here is the same job costed both ways, using what production houses in Kochi and Trivandrum actually charge in 2026.

Line itemTraditional shootAI production
Script and pre-production₹5,000–₹8,000Included
Crew, camera, lighting₹12,000–₹20,000—
Location and permissions₹3,000–₹10,000—
Talent / model₹5,000–₹12,000—
Editing, colour, sound₹8,000–₹12,000Included
Extra variants of same adReshoot, or recut at ₹3,000 each₹400–₹600 each
Total₹35,000–₹60,000₹1,600–₹4,500
Calendar days12–18 days2–4 days

That is roughly a tenth of the cost and a fifth of the time — but the honest version of this table needs its caveats, because the gap is not free money.

A shoot buys you three things AI cannot generate: your actual premises, your actual people, and footage you own outright that will still look right in three years. If you run a showroom in Thrissur, a restaurant in Kozhikode or a clinic anywhere, the place is the product, and an hour of phone footage of the real thing beats a generated interior every time. We will tell you that rather than sell you a reel.

Where AI wins outright is volume and testing. Eight hook variants of one idea costs about ₹4,000 in AI and is simply not purchasable as a shoot. That matters because creative fatigue, not budget, is what kills most Meta campaigns in Kerala — the reason we build reels and video content in batches rather than one hero film at a time.

What pushes the price up

Five things, in rough order of how often they turn a ₹1,600 quote into a ₹6,000 one. None of them are secret and all of them are decisions you control.

What you addWhat it costsWhy
Custom recurring character+₹2,500 once, then freeA consistent presenter across every video needs a locked character reference built and tested first. Pays for itself by the fourth reel.
Lip-sync to spoken script+₹800–₹1,500Mouth movement has to match audio frame by frame. High rejection rate, so more generation and more edit time.
Malayalam voice+₹600–₹1,200Short hooks are fine synthetic. Anything past ten seconds we record with a real voice, because synthetic Malayalam and Manglish code-mixing still sound off to a native ear.
Extra variants+₹400–₹600 eachNew hook, new ratio, new language on an existing build. The cheapest line on this page and the one that most improves ad results.
Revision rounds past the first+₹500 per roundA revision regenerates footage rather than adjusting a timeline. Two rounds is plenty when the brief was specific.

One more, less obvious: rush delivery inside 24 hours adds 40%, and we will only accept it if the script is already approved. Compressing the approval loop is what breaks AI video, not compressing the production.

How to brief an AI video so you don’t overpay

Most of the cost overruns we see come from vague briefs, not greedy quoting. Send these seven things with your first message and the price you are quoted is the price you pay.

  1. One sentence on the offer. Not your brand story — the thing you want someone to do after watching. “Book a free consultation” is a brief. “Build awareness” is not.
  2. Six to ten clean product photos. Plain background, good light, several angles. This is the single biggest driver of output quality, and it is free. Bad input is the most common reason an AI video looks generic.
  3. Decide the language before you order, not after. English, Malayalam, or Manglish with Malayalam captions. Deciding later is a new variant, which is a new line item.
  4. Name the exact length and ratio. “30 seconds, 9:16 for Reels”. If you also want a 1:1 for the feed, say so now — bundled it is ₹400, bought separately next week it is a new job.
  5. Write your hook, or approve ours before production starts. Changing the hook after the footage exists means regenerating the footage. This is the expensive mistake.
  6. Pick one approver. Three people with opinions arriving in round two is how a one-revision job becomes a four-revision job.
  7. Order variants up front, not one video. Eight hooks on one build costs less than two separate videos and tells you far more about what your audience responds to — the same logic behind how we structure performance marketing creative tests.

If you want the longer version of the production argument — where AI video fails, what the disclosure rules are, and how it performs against studio creative — that is in our post on AI UGC video production for Kerala businesses.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to common questions on this topic.

For a 30-second ad, yes — dramatically. A traditional shoot in Kerala lands between ₹35,000 and ₹60,000 once crew, location, talent and edit are counted. The same length in AI runs ₹1,600 for a reel and ₹4,500 for a scripted ad film with voiceover. Where AI isn't cheaper is anything that has to show your real premises, your real staff or your real finished work — filming that for an hour beats generating it.

A 15 or 30-second reel is delivered in 48 hours from approved script. A 30–45 second ad film takes 3–4 working days because of voiceover and two rounds of hook testing. A monthly reel pack goes out weekly, two reels at a time. Rush delivery inside 24 hours adds 40%, and we only take it if the script is already signed off.

Yes, and you should. Send 6–10 clean photos of the product on a plain background from several angles, and we keep the actual product in frame while AI generates everything around it. This is the single biggest quality difference between an AI video that sells and one that looks generic. A generated stand-in for a real product is the fastest way to lose a customer who has seen the real thing.

You do. On final payment you get full commercial rights to the delivered files, the source project, and every raw cut we generated — including the ones we rejected. There's no usage window, no per-platform licence and no extra fee to run the same video as a paid ad. We only ask to show finished work in our portfolio, and we'll skip that if you prefer.

Yes. A Malayalam version of an existing video costs ₹600–₹1,200 depending on whether it needs a human voiceover or only on-screen text. Our default for anything over ten seconds of speech is AI visuals with a real Malayalam voice recorded over them, because long synthetic Malayalam still sounds wrong to a native ear. Short hooks under eight seconds are fine fully synthetic.
